Nizhny Novgorod region is planning to increase trade turnover with Germany up to 2 billion rubles by 2020.
It was stated by Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Dmitry Svatkovsky on Friday after signing the agreement between Nizhny Novgorod region and Russian-German Chamber of Foreign Trade.
Germany ranks second in the list of foreign trade partners of Nizhny Novgorod region. The turnover increased by $165 million compared to 2010 and amounted to 869.4 million dollars.
Deputy Governor said that Germany is interested in development of research centers in Nizhny Novgorod region. The chairman of Russian-German Chamber of Commerce Michael Harms noted that Nizhny Novgorod region and Germany have perspective partnerships in areas of automobile industry and pharmaceutics.
